Drone Video Is Missing From the Phone but Still May Be on the Card

A phone app may display cached previews while high-quality footage is stored on the drone's card or internal storage. Clearing an app cache can remove previews without deleting the camera originals.

What to check first

Determine which device actually recorded the full-resolution video. A mobile preview and an original recording are different assets.

1. Locate and preserve the evidence. Power down safely and preserve the recording medium. Inspect card storage and any internal storage using the manufacturer's normal transfer method.
2. Check the most relevant recovery source. Copy the complete recording folders to healthy storage and compare flight times with filenames. Keep flight-related metadata if it helps identify clips.
